NBA All-Star Weekend celebrates basketball and showcases the best talent in the league. Although the All-Star Game will be the highlight of the weekend, there are many other competitions which provide exciting entertainment as well as highlighting the player’s skills. The 2024 edition carried on this tradition, with memorable contests.
Team Cavaliers won the NBA Skills Challenge earlier this weekend. This was a result of their precision passing skills and prowess in dribbling.

Slam Dunk Contest was the culmination of events that promised creativity and athleticism. This year’s field featured:
- Matas Buzelis, Chicago Bulls
- Stephon Castle, San Antonio Spurs
- Andre Jackson Jr., Milwaukee Bucks
- Mac McClung, Osceola Magic G League
Winner: Mac McClung Claims Victory
Mac McClung won the championship after defeating Stephon castle in an exciting final round. McClung’s electrifying performance was a hit with the audience and cemented his reputation as a dunker of elite caliber.

Slam Dunk Contest Recap
Stephon castle opened the contest by scoring a 48.2 from the judges. Castle’s dunk opened the competition with a fiercely competitive atmosphere.
Matas Bulzelis was unable to perform well in the first round. His score was 40 which wasn’t enough for him to move on.
Andre Jackson Jr., who also had difficulty with his attempts to dunk the ball, settled on a more simple move that earned him a 43.8 score.
Mac McClung, two-time champion and reigning champ of the sport, lived up to his reputation with an impressive dunk. He grabbed the ball above a vehicle and over a pedestrian. The feat was so impressive that he received a score of 50 and immediately became the leader.
McClung’s dominance continued in the second round of dunks with a spin behind the head dunk. Once again, McClung received a perfect 50 score from the judges. This secured his place in the final round.
McClung and Castle made it to the finals. Castle had some challenges with his first dunk, but ended up scoring 49.6.
McClung responded by delivering another spectacular dunk. He achieved a perfect 50, further cementing his chances of winning the competition.
Castle responded by executing a great dunk, and received a 50 out of 100 from the judges.
McClung won the Slam Dunk Contest for the third time in NBA history with his final dunk. The audience was captivated by his creativity and athleticism, which cemented McClung’s legacy.
