Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro He showed off his shooting prowess by winning the 3-Point Contest at the NBA All-Star Weekend 2025. Herro’s success is an important milestone in his professional career. It also adds to Miami Heat’s legacy at this event.

Herro and Buddy Hield, of the Golden State Warriors, faced each other in an exciting final round. Hield was backed by his hometown fans, but Herro kept calm under pressure to deliver a powerful performance.

Herro is the fifth Miami Heat member to win the 3-Point Contest, after James Jones who won the title for the Heat in 2011. The win solidifies Herro as a key member of Miami Heat.
Herro has also stopped Milwaukee Bucks Damian Lillard achieving the rare feat of a three-peat. Lillard did not make it past the opening round of the tournament this year, as he was aiming to become the only player since Craig Hodges to have three-peated in 1992.
Darius Garland, Cleveland Cavaliers Darius Garland, and Herro were the three players in the final. Herro narrowly defeated Hield with his final-round score, 24. Garland placed third in the final round with 17 points.
Buddy Hield’s 31-point performance in the Golden State Warriors crowd was electrifying. The record had been set in 2021 by Stephen Curry and then matched in 2023 by Tyrese Halliburton, a teammate of Hield’s. Herro, despite Hield’s strong start in the game, was able to secure his spot in the final due to his consistent play.
The Los Angeles Clippers’ Norman Powell and the Detroit Pistons’ Cade Cunningham were also notables who failed to make it through the first round. Jalen Bunson, the New York Knicks’ guard, was the only other participant that did not advance.
