Not just because of the SAG Awards 2025, but also for all those who were nominated. An Unknown Complete, but also for Timothée Chalamet‘s endearing onstage stumble. Although the film’s potential for awards, and Chalamet portraying Bob Dylan in the movie, has generated buzz, his unscripted moment of pause was what really captured audiences.
Chalamet was joined by his castmates Elle Fanning and Monica Barbaro on the SAG Awards Stage on Sunday 23rd February to present their much-anticipated film. This impressive group of An Unknown Complete secured four SAG Award nominations this year: Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for Timothée Chalamet, Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for Monica Barbaro, and Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for Edward Norton (though Kieran Culkin ultimately won for his role in It’s a Real Pain).

Chalamet wore a black jacket with a lime green shirt underneath, and added a diamond-bolo tie to complete the outfit. He confidently introduced the film by quoting David Lynch, the visionary filmmaker, on Bob Dylan’s enigmatic nature.
“As David Lynch once said about Bob Dylan, ‘He tapped into some kind of vein and he keeps on, keepin’ on,'” Chalamet declared into the microphone. A pause uncharacteristic to the Oscar nominee followed. He recovered from the brief silence with a sense of humor.
“An Unknown Complete He added, in a self-deprecating tone, that he “shoulda done rehearsals.”
The actors, too, tried their best to hide their amusement as they tried to playfully suppress it.

After Chalamet’s short hiccup the cast seamlessly transitioned to highlighting the importance of each character within the story of An Unknown Complete. Monica Barbaro and Edward Norton play figures integral to Bob Dylan’s life – the iconic Joan Baez and folk music legend Pete Seeger, respectively. Elle Fanning plays Sylvie, a character invented by Suze and Dylan to represent their romantic relationship.
Timothée Chalamet is considered a frontrunner for the 2025 Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role this Sunday. This performance is crucial for Timothee Chalamet’s chances of winning the Best Actor Academy Award next weekend for his portrayal as Bob Dylan.
