Koepka has a unique perspective on golf, based upon his deep knowledge of its history. Major championships, he believes, are events which etch players into the sports history. As he eloquently stated, referencing a basketball icon, “Everything’s a tuneup for the majors… It’s what you’re remembered by in history, it’s like anything you remember about championships, right? Nobody ever asks [Michael Jordan] “How many regular-season wins have you achieved?”
Koepka believed that the majors were the moments in a golfer’s life that shaped their career. They also influenced public perception.
Prepare yourself and have the mental fortitude to win
LIV Golf star, Michael LIV revealed his detailed preparation plan and stressed the importance solid fundamentals of ball striking. It is because of this focus that he can confidently enter major championships, knowing his technical skills give him a competitive advantage. In the interview, Koepka revealed that “Make sure my ball striking is correct, the fundamentals are down…. [Not mental preparation] “I know that I will win the battle against everyone out there.”
Koepka says that while technical ability is important, mental toughness also plays a significant role in winning major championships. Koepka believes that only select individuals possess the mental toughness required to compete at the highest levels.
According to him, maintaining consistent major championships for a prolonged period of time is an extremely difficult feat. The ability to remain consistent over a long period of time is much harder to achieve.

Brooks Koepka’s record of major championships speaks for itself. Brooks Koepka has won 5 major titles in the last few years. These include back-to-back U.S. Open victories (2017 and 2018) and PGA Championships in 2018, 2019, 2023.
He has a record of 13 top-10 finishes including 4 runner-ups. Koepka finished among the top 10 finishers in 42.9% (18 out of 42) of major starts, and 48.6% (18 out of 37). Koepka finished in the top 10 of 14 major starts (48.3%) between 2017 and the year 2024.
