Miami Police Arrest Illegal Immigrant Suspect in Murder Spree

Zsolt Zsolyomi is a Hungarian citizen currently being held in Miami Florida by police. He has been accused of strangling to death two elderly men. Zsolyomi is a Hungarian undocumented alien who has been deemed a threat by law enforcement.

Zsolt Zsolyomi’s arrest on the 19th of February is related to deaths of Carlos Villaquiran and Rodolfo de Fernandez Velasco. The men he was reportedly friends with before these incidents were Carlos Villaquiran and Rodolfo.

Discussions on <a href="https://247newslive.com/tag/illegal-immigration/”>illegal immigration, crime committed by undocumented immigrant and border security have been intensified. Immigration policies and border concerns are also prominent. To prevent these crimes, some argue that border controls and enforcement should be strengthened.

Carlos Villaquiran was the first victim. He died in his Miami Beach bathtub, November 21st 2024. Medical examiner report stated that strangulation caused the death.

Rodolfo Ferrandez de Velasco, aged 71, died inside his car on the 21st of January, 2025. Two front seatbelts wrapped tightly around his neck. Surveillance video showed that the car crashed, and a person fled on the passenger side. The investigators think Zsolyomi met Fernandez de Velasco earlier in the evening, at a gas station.

After an investigation by law enforcement, Zsolyomi was apprehended in Miami Beach. He allegedly confessed during questioning and was then detained. Two counts of murder in the second degree are filed against him, and he is subject to an Immigration Detainer.

Zsolyomi was reported to have entered the United States on October 20, 2022, and continued in the United States after his visa had expired. A deportation warrant was issued for him in September 2024. He was also wearing a ankle monitor when the offenses were alleged.

Miami Beach police chief Wayne Jones stated that Zsolyomi was a threat to gay elderly men living in Miami. He said, “There is no doubt to my mind if he hadn’t been caught, I am sure he would do this over and over again.”

Miami Police Chief Manuel Morales issued a press release expressing his gratitude to the detectives of multiple agencies who were involved in the case. He emphasized their commitment to finding and apprehending a suspect.

Police are asking anyone who has any information or believes that they have been victimized by Zsolyomi to get in touch with them. Zsolt Zsolyomi will appear before a court on 12 March. Investigating Zsolyomi is focused on his potential target of gay elderly people in Miami.
