Shakira‘s 2024 world tour is a highly anticipated event to support her new album. Las Mujeres Ya No LloranTwo shows were cancelled within two weeks after the launch of this tour. These unfortunate events have disappointed fans in both Lima, Peru, and Medellín, Colombia.
The most recent cancellation affected her performance scheduled for Monday, February 24, in Medellín, Colombia. Shakira apologized to her fans on X, formerly Twitter on Sunday 23rd February. “My people from Medellín! She wrote, “It hurts me to not be able get up on stage to sing as much for you as I would have liked to.” She also mentioned her sons, Milan, 12, and Sasha, 10, were traveling with her and were eagerly anticipating experiencing Medellín. She said, “I’m excited to be back with you all and show them the many surprises I prepared.”

She apologized to all those who traveled to her to witness the event. She apologized for any inconvenience caused, particularly to those who had traveled. It’s not in my control or that of my team of producers, but we will find another date soon to celebrate. You always support me unconditionally, and I am grateful. Her message ended with “I hope to see very soon and love you very, very much.”
As per Billboard, the Medellín concert was canceled due to significant safety concerns. Páramo Presenta, the event organizer, released a statement explaining that “during the assembly process of the show scheduled for February 24, the roof of the stage installed by the local production suffered damage that puts at risk the safety of the artist, her staff and, most importantly, that of the audience.” The promoter and Shakira’s team are collaborating to reschedule the performance in Medellín. Páramo Presenta acknowledged the disappointment but emphasized public safety as the priority.
Prior to the Medellín cancellation, Shakira had to postpone her Saturday, February 16, show in Lima, Peru, due to unforeseen health issues. Shakira, who had been to the ER with an abdominal problem, announced on Saturday, 15 February, that she was hospitalized. At the time, medical professionals said that Shakira was not in a condition that would allow her to perform. It was never revealed what abdominal condition led her to hospitalization.
Shakira’s World Tour is intended to promote Las Mujeres Ya No LloranOn February 11,’s Latin American Leg began in Rio de Janeiro Brazil. The current tour includes 46 dates, and will conclude on November 16 in Lima (Peru). Shakira fans are hoping that she will recover quickly and make necessary adjustments to her tour itinerary to allow all scheduled performances to take place.
